Jamie Oliver Kitchen announced 30 March via Facebook that, due to the spread of Covid-19 and the financial hacov it has wreacked, Jamie Oliver Kitchen would be shutting its doors.

The Jamie Oliver brand first arrived in Thailand five years ago as Jamie’s Italian, focusing on the British celebrity chef’s version of rustic Italian dishes. While the restaurant group fell into administration in the UK and had closed many of its outlets, it seemed to be making a comeback. Only months ago, the Siam Discovery-based restaurant had regrouped and returned as Jamie Oliver Kitchen, largely to praise. For example, we said: “The Mediterranean-inspired lamb and pine nut meatballs (B260) will have you dreaming of the exotic vacation you wish you could take.”

According to posts on the restaurant’s Facebook page, there are, sadly, no plans to return to Bangkok in the foreseeable future.
